Dry Needling
Dry Needling
Dry needling is an effective therapy to treat muscular tension and spasm, which commonly accompanies conditions such as arthritis, nerve irritation, muscular strains, ligament strains and herniated discs. With dry needling, a small, solid filament needle is inserted into a contracted painful knotted muscle. Research has found that dry needling deceases pain, reduces muscle tension and improves flexibility.
Does it hurt?
Most patients do not even feel the needle penetrate the skin. Often, there is a local twitch response which elicits a very brief (less than a second) cramping sensation.
